How to Install Play Store on your Mi TV

Hey Mi TV users, how have you been. The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 was launched in India on the 14th of February along with Redmi Note 5 and 5 Pro. And ever since its launch, it has disrupted the Indian TV Market. Since then, they have also launched more affordable tv Mi TV 4A 43 and Mi TV 4A 32. But with this TV we are locked in a walled garden with limited videos and apps available to watch. So here is the guide on how you can install play store on your mi tv (actually other store) which is similar to play store and just works fine on TV.

Even if you install Play Store it will not work as you know Google’s policy it need Google Services to run Play Store. You even won’t be able to install apps like Hotstar or even VLC because it is not supported on TV or maybe Xiaomi has not made it available. But it’s still possible to install a slew of third-party apps which will work just fine. So lets see how we can install it.

How to Install Play Store on your Mi TV

Step 1: Download the Aptoide app from here and copy it on a USB pen drive.

Step 2: Go to Settings, then Security and allow Unknown Sources.

Step 3: Then plug in the pen drive to your TV.

Step 4: The moment you plug in the pen drive, a pop window will show up, make sure to press cancel.

Step 5: Go to TV Manager, then head to Install apps via USB and select your pen drive. Then install the Apptoide app.

Step 6: Once installed, you just have to tap on any app that you’d like to install on your Mi TV from the Aptoide TV store. This will prompt the Android system to throw you a notification. Click on Install and the app would be installed in absolutely no time.

Aptoide is an alternative to Google Play store. I’m sure you all must have other opinions and suggestions. Kindly share your experience so that we can make it helpful for all Mi TV owners.
